* THE FOUR KINDS OF FITNESS

Physical Fitness is more than basic life support. Animals are adapted for a complex environment, and meeting their whole spectrum of needs makes their lives longer and better.

Mental Fitness is as important in captivity as it is in the wild. It promotes natural socialization within and between species and reduces stereotyped, neurotic behaviors.

Emotional Fitness is the cornerstone of a compassionate, trusting partnership between man and animal. When we bring life into the world, we owe it happiness and contentment.

Moral Fitness is a clear understanding of rules and expectations by man and animal that promotes trust, minimizes stress, reduces accidents and enhances cooperation.
